At K9 Core, we have always prioritized the well-being and happiness of our furry guests. But we firmly believe that caring for our dogs goes beyond providing a comfortable stay – it also involves nurturing the environment they call home. That's why we have taken significant steps to minimize our ecological impact and create a sustainable boarding kennel experience. From LED lighting and our little dog beds being made from recyled plastics to eco-friendly packaging solutions, we are dedicated to reducing waste and promoting a greener future.

1. Energy-Efficient LED Lighting:

We understand the importance of energy conservation, which is why we have refitted our entire property with LED lights. LED lights are not only more energy-efficient but also have a longer lifespan compared to traditional incandescent bulbs. By embracing this eco-friendly lighting choice, we significantly reduce our energy consumption and minimize carbon emissions.

2. Rosewood Ecoline Dog Beds:

We are proud to offer our guests the utmost comfort while also being mindful of our environmental impact. That's why we have chosen to furnish our kennels with huge raised heavy duty beds in the big dog side and recycled Ecoline dog beds made from repurposed plastic bottles in the little dog side. These beds provide a cozy, comfy and safe space for our furry guests while simultaneously helping to reduce plastic waste and lessen the strain on our planet's resources.

3. Material Bags for Life:

To further encourage sustainability, we provide our regular guests with material bags for life. These durable and reusable bags are perfect for packing their dog's food and belongings during their stay with us. By using these bags, we significantly reduce the need for single-use plastic bags, helping to minimize plastic waste in our kennels and beyond. We ask all our guests to not package their dogs meals individually into single use plastic freezer bags or similar, but just provide us with the normal food bag/container, as this means we can feed our guests more or less as they need as they tend to eat more here than they do at home.

4. Recycled Bedding Solutions:

The comfort of our canine guests remains a top priority. To ensure their well-being while also being environmentally conscious, we have adopted a combination of lots of fluffy non slip vet bed and also large blankets made from recycled materials. These bedding solutions provide warmth, comfort, and a touch of luxury, all while reducing our reliance on new resources and helping to divert waste from landfills.

5. Going Predominantly Paper-Free:

As part of our commitment to sustainability, we have embraced a predominantly paper-free approach. By minimizing the use of paper and transitioning to digital solutions, we significantly reduce our consumption of paper products and the associated environmental impact. We utilize digital booking systems, email communication, and electronic documentation to streamline our operations while minimizing our carbon footprint.
